Renewable Energy Development

By providing a more robust transmission system for delivery of electric power, the entire region would benefit from the proposed project.

Components of the proposed project would better facilitate interconnection of new generation sources to the power delivery infrastructure and provide the needed capacity on the transmission lines to support the development of renewable resources.

The solar, wind and biomass industry in the region brings economic diversity to parts of rural Colorado and New Mexico. Economic analyses have shown that solar and wind generation facilities contribute to significant economic growth in private investment and create permanent, high-paying jobs.

Tri-State has been making substantial investments in bringing on additional renewable resources into its existing portfolio, as well as working closely with its member cooperatives to develop community-based projects.
